The municipality of Tinajo is located in the center-west of the island of Lanzarote. Due to its volcanic origin, given by the eruptions from Timanfaya and its best known volcano: the Tinguatón, Tinajo is a municipality with unique lands and, besides an impressive landscape, they offer a special soil for agriculture that abounds in the municipality. In Tinajo also sports tourism is highlighted, since among its limits are ideal places for hiking, running and water sports such as surfing.
The Santa and the National Park of Timanfaya are its main attractions, shared with Yaiza. In Mancha Blanca is the hermitage of "Nuestra Señora de los Dolores" (Our Lady of Sorrows), also called "Our lady of the Volcanoes", patroness of Lanzarote.
Tinajo has several places of historical interest such as the hermitage of "Nuestra Señora de Regla", the church of San Roque, the ethnological site of Tenesera, the Paleontological site of La Isleta de La Santa, the cave of the Naturalists, the "Ana Viciosa" cave and The Natural Park of Los Volcanes, which is a favorite among hikers, for its many paths to enjoy the fauna and flora of these lands.
Undoubtedly one of the most unique geographies of the island, which is away from the traditional offer of sun and beaches. A visit that covers protected territory and unique views of our island.
