Los Charcones are wonderful natural pools that are located on the southwest coast of Lanzarote. Visitors and residents love this "secret" place of the Volcanic island. It's a difficult place to reach, but the moment you know how to get there, you won't want to miss the opportunity to take a dip in these incredible pools formed by nature, with the force of water that blows against the volcanic coast of the island. The sea water and the tranquility of having one of these pools just for you, in "beachfront", is a unique privilege.
In this place you will find puddles of different sizes and depths. So deep that you can dive into them and others that are perfect to relax by their shallow depth. The shades of turquoise and various blues are created by the depths and light that comes to each of the pools.
Definitely, Los Charcones create a paradisiac place that rewards its visitors with spectacular views after a difficult access. After leaving the paved road, you have to cross a dirt road until you reach a building under construction: the old and abandoned "hotel". The journey to get there is very rustic, but even small cars can get there.
To reach the natural pools "Los Charcones" requires a descent by the volcanic stones, a descent somewhat uneven, but with many points of support. We recommend going with comfortable shoes to make this a safe and fun experience for everyone.
In Los Charcones you can find small sea urchins, usually clinging to the rocky walls. And cute little fish that come with the tide to the deepest puddles.
