La Geria winery is located in the centre of the natural landscape of La Geria, and in fact in the most important viticulture zone of the island of Lanzarote. The winery was built in the late 19th century by the family Rijo.
In 1993, this winery was acquired by its current owners, the Melián family, who have combined the oldest traditions of elaboration with the most advanced winegrowing technology. Currently, Bodega La Geria is the most visited in Spain, with an average of 300,000 visits per year.
La Geria winery has a capacity of 450,000 liters, mainly in stainless steel tanks and in oak barrels, albeit to a lesser extent. They produce annually about 300 thousand bottles. The production has young wines that are made from white grapes Volcanic Malvasia for the dry, semi-sweet and sweet; Grape Listán black for reds and rosés; And Moscatel grape from Alexandria for sweet muscatel.
The winery is open to the public every day of the year and offers guided tours for the most curious, prior reservation.
