1. MAH (Madre) –Mother- Shortfilm. Proyecto Bentejuí

MAH (Mother), the new short film of the Bentejuí Project, is presented in Lanzarote this Friday May 6, in the Auditorium of the Arrecife Library at 8:00 pm. The film lasts 25 minutes. The direction is by Armando Ravelo, starring Laura Perdomo, Maykol Hernandez, Francisco Vazquez, Hiram Vega and Cristo Quintana.

2. XXII Festival Guanapay

On 6 May is celebrated the XXII Guanapay Festival, at 9:30 pm in the Convent of Santo Domingo in Teguise. Admission is free as always and this year the theme of the festival and recognition is to the sport of "hand ball". There will be various performances by soloists of the island and friends of Buchito Café de Gran Canaria.

 

3. Zumba MasterClass, Parque Islas Canarias. Arrecife

It’s time to dance! This Friday at 8:30 pm there will be a Zumba Masterclass in the Islas Canarias  Park in Arrecife. And it’s free. The event is part of the program of the Urban Disco Night Race and had a participation of 300 people last year, with the expectation to exceed that amount this year. Join in and dance!

.4. Sport Zone Disco Night Urban Race Ciudad de Arrecife 2016

The Sport Zone Disco Night Race Urban Arrecife City already has confirmation from more than 800 people to the popular race taking place on Saturday May 7 through the main streets of Arrecife. It will have two distances, 10 and 5 kilometers. Good luck to all runners!

 

.5. XV Semana de la Música del CIEM

The  “XV Semana de la Música del CIEM” (CIEM Music Week) concludes this Friday in the prestigious hall "Camel House" in Macher, where from 8:00 pm it will be held the traditional concert of teachers.

 

 

.6. XXI Feria del Libro Arrecife

The capital of Lanzarote is full of literature and music until Sunday at the Charco de San Gines with the “XXI Feria del Libro Arrecife” (The city’s Book Fair). Don’t miss this opportunity to get the titles that you like and discover some new books.

.7. Art Exhibition “Expresiones desde el corazón” (Expressions from the heart), by Jose Antonio Manchado

The exhibition "Expressions from the heart", will display the last paintings of lanzaroteño author José Antonio Manchado, and it opens on the evening of Thursday, May 5 at 8:00 pm. The exhibition consists of 24 paintings that will be exhibited in the Art Hall of Ermita San Antonio until nMay 29. Manchado, self-taught painter and writer, is also the author of "happier than the Dalai Lama Sea.

 

 

.8.Limpieza de la Playa de Famara

The associations Famara Limpia and COUP, organize a beach cleaning of Famara beach from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm on Saturday May 7 (meeting point: near the former lifeguard hut). The idea is to make beach cleaning as rutinary as cleaning your house. This beach receives a lot of plastic because of its shape and orientation. Your support will be appreciated.

 

 

.9. Hiking:  Discover the wine landscape of Lanzarote

Wine tourism and hiking join in the route “Descubre el paisaje del vino de Lanzarote” (Discover the Wine landscape of Lanzarote) organized by Senderismo Lanzarote. The walking route for this Saturday May 7 will end at Bodegas La Florida, it will be a place of interest for Lanzarote’s wine lovers. The fare of the activity between volcanoes, wines and wineries is 12 € and places are limited.

 

.10. Geolodía 16. Route: La Villa to Caleta de Famara

This Saturday it will take place the celebration of the geological day called “Geolodía” (Geoloday), an informative and educational activity that includes a field trip through the path from La Villa to Caleta de Famara, linking the ancient capital of the island with one of the main natural and geological local attractions such as the massif of Famara and the beach. The route of the "Geolodía" is open to the general public and is free.

This initiative is a way to raise awareness about the importance and need to protect our geological heritage.

 

.11. Music: ‘EL AMOR BRUJO 1915′. Orquesta del Atlántico, with singer Mayte Martín

"El Amor Brujo 1915" is presented this saturday May 7 at 9:00 pm with the Orquesta del Atlántico and the singer Mayte Martin. El Amor Brujo 1915 addresses the staging of the most famous composer Manuel de Falla as conceived by the author, and that was the first foray into classical music in flamenco language work. The 70-minute show will be under the direction of Isabel costs.

 

.12. Campeonato Insular de Ajedrez y 2º Torneo blitz Biosfera Plaza

The Biosfera Plaza Shopping Center will host this Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 the Island’s Chess Championship. Registration is free 30 minutes prior to the tournament Blitz at 5:00 pm.

 

.13.Festival la Quinta Hora Muñique

The "La Quinta Hora” Festival will be this Saturday in Muñique, starring Maru Cabrera & Roberto Gil (5:00 to 6:00 pm), iMtiMa (6:15 to 7:00 pm), Africa YEAH band of Lanzarote (7:15 to 8:30 pm), Emisora Clandestina (8:45 to 10:00 pm) and Ciempiés Ni Cabeza (10:15 -11: 30 pm). A musical day with an invitation to paella from 2:00 pm.
