Northern Lanzarote unveils a contrasting landscape that has nothing to do with the recent volcanism of the southern part of the island. Its rugged terrain offers stunning panoramic views of Chinijo Archipelago and La Graciosa and other picturesque enclaves of the agricultural people of the central and northeast coast: La Villa de Teguise, Los Valles Haria and Guinate.
We start the route in the Monumento al Campesino near the village of San Bartolome designed by Manrique as a tribute to the hard work of the farmers of the island. Next stop is a stunning Lagomar embedded in the slope of the volcano of Nazaret designed by César Manrique and by artist Jesús Soto in the idyllic gardens, mazes of rock caves. It is said that the residence was once owned by Omar Sharif for a few hours and lost it in a game of bridge.
We continue north towards Jameos Del Agua. This center is one of the most representative works of the great artist César Manrique, which is part of one of the longest lava tubes in the world 7km in length, originated after the eruption of La Corona Volcano.
Also in the area we visit an Aloe Vera farm, one of the plants with medicinal properties and from here we head to Guinate viewpoint from where you can enjoy a stunning panoramic view of La Graciosa, Montaña Clara and Alegranza. We stop in the village of Haria in which we have time to walk the streets and see the views of the Valley of 1000 Palms.
Our journey takes us through the Valleys and crop farms and we make a final optional visit to the Fundación César Manrique, former residence of the artist.
The return to the pick-up points is between 17.00 and 18:00 hrs.
