1. Fiesta de la Caleta de Famara
This weekend is the Closing of the Festivities of Caleta de Famara in honor of the Sacred Heart of Mary (Fiestas de la Caleta de Famara en honor al Sagrado Corazón de María). The famous and expected Water Festival is the main attraction for this Sunday. In the Famara port the festivals receives thousands of people eager to dance, have fun and get wet with salt water, of course, the beach is next to it. “El Cuarteto Doramas” will sing in the event. Saturday, August 29, there will be salsa dancing workshop and funky (salsafunck) with a Zumba class. At 20: 30 hours will be the concert of the canarian group “Ni más ni menos” with 80’s versions. The Second “GranVerbena Popular” with Nalyimbe and Los Conejeros orchestras. In the alternative area between 14:00 and 19:00 there will be the Family Day Festival with barbecue, children's games, inflatables, zumba fitness, foam and water, in charge of the Dj's residents Juan Hernandez, Ruymán Jhony Gonzalez and D. from Sevilla Alvaro Guerra and Javier Torres.
2. Fiestas Santa Rosa de Lima
This weekend the Festival Santa Rosa de Lima in Órzola ends with a lot of activities. Since Friday morning with sandcastle contest on La Cantería Beach, if the tide allows it, from 9:30 hour to continue the open house events in the sand and beach: beach volleyball , paddle, canoeing and windsurfing. In the evening it will be the Fiesta Canaria with the burning of Quevedo and Parrandas Los Gurfines. On Saturday the party is for little kids on the beach Caletón Blanco, with mats, body painting and games from 12:00 to 17:00. There will also be beach soccer (13 years), and motocross and trick (truco) championship. The festivities conclude on Sunday with the children's mud workshop by Aquilino Santana Rodriguez at 11:30. Mass and procession in honor of Santa Rosa de Lima, accompanied by Alborada will be at 18:00 hours. The final is at 21:30 pm with the Gala weekend and raffle surprise gifts.
3. Veranito Graciosero
The Veranito Graciosero (Graciosa’s Little summer, “best translation”) concludes this weekend with activities of “La Graciosa Sostenible”. There will be a “door to door”, and Designing Pet Workshop and the Game “Energízate” at the Graciosa’s dock. . There will be games with puppets and renewable games on Sunday at 17:00 this Saturday. Saturday at 20:00 will be a lottery for gifts with the Association of Elders "Las Gracioseras". And finally an excursion is organized to Caleta de Famara for the Festival of Sacred Heart of Mary on Sunday.
4. 2nd North Lanzarote MTB Marathon
For marathoners, conejeros and visitors, on Saturday August 29 is celebrated the “2nd North Lanzarote MTB Marathon” ( 2da Maratón MTB Norte de Lanzarote ) at 11:00. It is medium-high difficulty. Marathon Elevation gain: 1400 meters, half marathon 4000 meters. This test is integrated into the circuit I Lanzarote MTB Cup 2015. The closing of the race is four hours after the departure.
5. Tempo Lanzarote
It is the fifth presentation of Tempo Lanzarote filling the auditorium Jameos del Agua with music and lights. This visual, musical and scenic show is presented at 12:30 offering a trip back in time through music and images, in which the viewer can learn chapters of the history of the island. They are 9 musicians, 17 actors and many surprises that begins at the time of the attacks of pirates who punished the inhabitants of the island. You do not want to miss it. It is a show at one of the most emblematic places of Lanzarote.
6. Ilustration Exhibit “Cada loco con su tema”
The illustration takes center stage at the Exhibition Hall of the Charco de San Gines. Last Tuesday was the inauguration of collective illustration exhibit called “Cada Loco con su tema” (To each his own theme) and it will be open until September 30. “Cada Loco con su tema” is an exhibition of works by four illustrators Lanzarote trained at the School of Art Pancho Lasso: Immaculate Armas, Sergio Barrios, and Araceli Muñoz Magdiel Burgos. Very different but interconnected works, since they all show the through various illustrations, feelings of everyday life of any human being.
