Things to Do This Weekend
This weekend is packed with good music. As you like: classical, electronic, jazz, rock ... in concert halls and around the city. You have everything to choose from. Besides the concerts, there are also festivals in several villages and two major sporting events.
Arrecife en Vivo
This Friday is the third function of "Arrecife en Vivo" Festival (Arrecife Live). . Four bands will be in the capital of Lanzarote rattling the public at four different locations. Concerts begin at 18:00 on the stage located in the area of El Reducto Beach opposite the hotel Diamar. First on stage is "Los Magnéticos" group with music from the 60s and 70s. 
The big finger of Elvis, symbol of the festival, will direct the public to the "Plazuela", a place where you will hear the cool and powerful pop-rock of The kraters. The British-conejero group of Jose Suarez, Benn Atkinson, Luke Shillingford and Ane Fernandez will show at 19:30. The show of Vientos from Suburbia will start at 21:00 hours in the Marina in Arrecife. Vientos from Suburbia is a instrumental jazz-funk band created by Julio Pacheco, with 11 musicians from Gran Canaria. Santo Machango will be on stage to close the night from 22:30 pm in the Charco de San Gines. The canary-Catalan group plays with different genres, from hip-hop to funk, soul and rock.
Closed traffic
For safety precautions and this concert, traffic will be close in the area of El Reducto Beach between 13:00 and 20:00 (on the stretch of Avenida Fred Olsen between El Reducto and Secundino Delgado Roundabout in front of Arrecife Gran Hotel).
OLGA CERPA & MESTISAY. "Estación Lisboa" Tour
Olga Cerpa & Mestisay acts this friday in the "Teatro Insular de Lanzarote" at 21:00 hours. This concert is part of the "Estación Lisboa" tour, the new album from the canary group. A unique opportunity to enjoy the best of the mixture between the Canary Islands and Portugal. 
“Timplefonías" Concert
Timple and guitar blend of world music by Manuel Adrian Alexis Lemes Socas and Jose Vicente Perez Gonzalez, who will offer a concert entitled "Timplefonías" at the Museum of piracy (Castillo de Santa Barbara) this Saturday, October 3 to 20:00 hours. 
"Cueva de los Verdes" Concert: Clarinet Quartet and Percussion
The clarinet quartet and percussion " Entre Mares " will offer an unique repertoire that will range from the most dramatic romanticism to world music . The concert will start in the purest chamber music style by Dvorak, will continue with folk fusion by Piazzolla, Broadway music by Gershwin and will end in virtuous Balkan ethnic melodies by Curtis. Lanzarote Classical Orchestra participates with the quartet composed integrated by clarinetists Ayoze Rodríguez, Pablo Blanco and Marta Curbelo, and Javier Santos on bass clarinet, with Carlos Almaguer on percussion, who will perform works by Mendelssohn, Dvorak, Curtis, Bregovic and Piazo. 
This pieces will form an entertaining concert where the rhythms will cross masterfully with beautiful melodies and the most elaborate counterpoint. Tickets are on sale at the box office of the Touristic centres, price 20 euros.

Fiestas Patronales en honor a San Miguel Arcángel –Teguise 2015
The "Festivities in honor of San Miguel Archangel Teguise 2015" will end this Saturday, October 3, with the Tour to Haría for the visit to the market at 09:30 hours. Followed by buffet lunch and stroll through historic old Haría at 16:00. 
Fiestas de El Rosario – Teseguite 2015
In the Festival of El Rosario Teseguite 2015 this Friday will be the popular Asadero with partying at 21:00. While Sunday will the Water and foam Verbena (party) with DJ Chipi, plus to Bingo with gifts and children's workshops. 
Fiestas de Aguapata en El Islote 2015
The "Fiestas de Aguapata en El Islote 2015 " are for the end of summer in San Bartolome. This Friday will be one of the main attractions with the XVIII Contest Aguapata at 20:30 hours, followed by the Party Style and El Islote and the Parrandas night with a performance by "El Geito" and "El Golpito". 
Saturday will be the Fun Run and the donkey race, striking events of the festival. At night the popular Verbena with Pura Vida group. On Sunday, there is the foam party and the horse race in the agroindustrial complex.
Fiestas de Nuestra Señora del Rosario en Femés 2015
The "Fiestas de Nuestra Señora del Rosario en Femés 2015" will have Envite and Ronda games this weekend, along with children's workshops and desserts' competitions. Saturday night will be Dance and starring "El Geito", while Sunday will be the religious functions and "Garbanzada".

Travesía a nado “El Río” 2015 Lanzarote-La Graciosa
Sports are a big part of activities in Lanzarote. This saturday is the Travesía a nado “El Río” 2015 Lanzarote-La Graciosa (The River Lanzarote-La Graciosa swim crossing), an impressive test performed in the strait between Lanzarote and La Graciosa. The crossing is 2600 meters at this marine reserve. 
The XXIII Swim Crossing the River will start from 12:30 hours from the Bajo el Risco beach in Famara. The time limit to cover the 2,600 meters distance to the finish ramp located in the beached dock in Caleta de Sebo (La Graciosa), will be one hour from the arrival of the first classified. 
The awards ceremony will be at 15.00 hours. After that, there will be paella for the participants after the crossing. And that night will be the performances of the "Treintaytantos" and "Bourbon" bands from 21.00 hours.
I Prueba ciclista Criterium
I Criterium cycling race will be this weekend. The I Prueba ciclista Criterium starts at 11:00 hours this sunday, in Playa Honda. The route is 30 kilometers.
