1. Animayo Lanzarote 2016
The International Film Festival of Animation, Visual Effects and Videogames Animayo is in Lanzarote for the fifth consecutive year. Sessions and workshops will be until Saturday February 27. The program takes place in the Teatro Insular de Lanzarote, with concerted activities for primary and secondary schools and at the Civic Center of San Francisco Javier with activities for all ages, students, amateurs and professionals in the audiovisual sector. Tickets are free, limited capacity. 
2. Carnaval Haría 2016. El bosque encantado
The Enchanted Forest is in Haria this weekend. The Carnival program 2016 includes many activities, closing with Carnival Tapa. 
Thursday, February 25: 5:00 pm: Carnival Party for the elderly of the village in the Socio-Cultural Center "La Tegala" Haria. Friday, February 26: 10:00 am: Parade with the participation of students of the CEIP San Juan and IES Haria. 9:00 pm: Meeting of Murgas "with the participation of the winners in the contest of Carnival Murgas of Arrecife and a guest murga from another island in the Plaza de Haria. The event will be hosted by comedian Matias Alonso. 11:00 pm: carnival party (Verbena) in the Plaza de Haria. Saturday, February 27: 12:00 pm: "Carnival Children's Day" starring, street bands and students of the North Latin Dance School (Escuela de Bailes Latinos del Norte) the Plaza de Haria. Then walk of the "Drag Queens" through the square. 6: 00 pm: "Coso de Carnaval" with a parade of floats, bands, parades, batucadas and many mascaritas leaving from the parking of the cemetery to finish in the Haria square. 11:00 pm: Verbena carnival in the Plaza of Haria. Sunday, February 28: 1:30 pm: "Carnaval de la Tapa" starring adult learners from North Latin Dance Schoolm, DJs and "Dancing Mascarita" to end the "Burial of the Sardine "in the Haria square.
3. Workshop: How to prevent, detect and deal with drug use among young people.
Today, at 7:00 pm there will be an interesting free talk for parents, guardians, teachers and adults in general, on how to prevent, detect and deal with drug use in young people. The talk, organized by the Department of Social and Family of the City of Tías, will be taught by leading scholars. Will take place at the Centre for Social Welfare and Family in the Avenida Central Tias. 
4. Presentation of the web “History of Tías”

5. Flamenco Night. Mercado de Naos
Naos market offers today, Thursday, February 25, a "Flamenco Night" (Noche de Flamenco), to enjoy this Spanish dance from 8:00pm, with Antonio de la Rosa and Flamenco Fusion. 
6. Blood Donation Campaign. Deiland
Until tonight you can donate. Go to Deiland Mall and participate in the Blood Donation Campaign carried out by the Canary Institute of Blood Donation and Hemotherapy. Hours are from 3:30 to 9:00 pm. It is imperative to collaborate personal identification. 
7. II Women’s Self Defense Workshop
This week you have a new opportunity to attend the Women's Self Defense Workshop organized by Karate Club Suhari Tías in collaboration with the Department of Sports City of Tías. The event will take place Friday, February 26 at 6:00 pm in the Municipal Gymnasium in Tías. Let’s go, it's free! 
8. Desafío Octava Isla
La Graciosa welcomes a mayor sports event with its spectacular setting, nature and beauty. This weekend you have the opportunity to participate in an incredible event: Desafío Octava isla (Challenge Eighth Island). Participants have the chance to compete surrounded by a biological richness in endemic species, dunes and beaches of golden sand, reached the finish line to the souk of the primitive buildings and gravel streets. To be crowned winner of the Challenge Eight Island (d8i) will compete in two sports disciplines (Cross-Triathlon and Trail) where participants will challenge the clock in two days of competition. These days will become unforgettable moments. 
Friday February 26 at 5:00 pm it will be the “La Graciosa Trail Kids” (for children Carrera # d8i) Modalities and CROSS TRIATHLON TRAIL TRAIL: 31 km, 20 km or 8 Km CROSS TRIATHLON: 1000 m swim, 20 km bike, 6 km race. Champions of the "Challenge" mode will be the best ranked participants Triathlon Trail Cross + Trail 31.
9. Chinijo’s Rock: Emisora Clandestina
This weekend begins a program of events designed and adapted to a very special audience: children. The department of Culture of the Cabildo de Lanzarote think of the children aged between 3 and 10 years old, Chinijo's Rock aims to bring popular music to young people. The "Emisora Clandestina" group will be responsible for opening the program with a concert in “La Recova", it will be a party on Saturday February 27 from 6:00 to 7:00 pm. The ticket price is 1 € and can only be purchased the day of the show at the box office enabled in “La Recova” of the City of Arrecife, from one hour before the start, that is, from 5:00 pm. 
10.Carnaval Carnival Biosfera Plaza
Saturday, February 27. 19:00 (2nd floor.) - Dance with Minnie and Mickey Mouse and make Minnie headband or Mickey bowtie. 
11. Orientation Day MTB in San Bartolome
Sunday February 28 will be the Day of Orientation MTB in San Bartolome, from 11:00 am. Register by calling 690-053-282. The price is 5 € which will be donated to the MTB School "Al Golpito". 
12.Conference: Life on Lava
This saturday, there will the Conference "Life on Lava. Animals and Plands of Lanzarote". It will take place at Conference room Hotel Jameos Playa in Puerto del Carmen, at 7:00 pm. It's a presentation by Prof. Horst Wilkends, from the University of Hamburg. He will introduce his specialised knowledge of flora and fauna, concentrating on the extraordinary nature of Lanzarote. Further to this, the seminar will be illustrated by marvellous photos to show us the diversity of natural life on this islands. It's an english presentation. After the conference there will be signing of Prof. Wilkins's new book: "Birds of canary Islands". 
13.Andrés Suárez en Concierto
This Saturday, February 27, it will be the concert of the artist Andrés Suárez. The Municipal Theatre of San Bartolome will receive the Galician singer at 9:00 pm. Andrés Suárez has shine this year with its sixth album, “Mi pequeña historia” (my little story). Tickets are € 15 and are on sale: Casa Ajei (Calle César Manrique s/n, 928 52 29 74), Municipal Bureau of Playa Honda (Calle Merlín s/n, 928 82 03 08). They can also be purchased at the box office one hour before the show, or you can buy them online. 
You can’t say in Lanzarote “there’s nothing to do”, when we have many options for this weekend, and for everyone and every taste. If you don’t feel like going to any of these events, you still have many things to do in Lanzarote. You can visit the National Park Timanfaya, Cueva de los Verdes, Mirador del Río and all those amazing places on this island.
