Mirador del Río
Although there's an admission fee, or buy the CACT voucher, to enter the Tourist Center "Mirador del Río", created by Cesar Manrique, it is possible to enjoy the same incredible view to the Chinijo archipelago from other points of the Famara Risk.
The amazing views of La Graciosa can be enjoyed from places like "El Bosquecillo", a viewpoint that also lets you see the Caleta de Famara. You can also follow the road from the Mirador del Río (both by car, on foot or by bike), to find this unique landscape.
Another free place of Lanzarote to enjoy the view to Chinijo Archipelago, is in Guinate, next to Guinate Tropical Park, where you can even park your car. This place is part of different hiking tours of the island.
South of Lanzarote
In the south of Lanzarote you can visit four places that are totally free in Lanzarote and you will love them.
Near Playa Blanca, you can find Salinas del Janubio, or Janubio saltworks, declared nature reserve. You can make a stop at one of the viewpoints that exist in the road to contemplate from afar this unique landscape in contrasting shades of white salt, gray, pink, with the blue waters of the Atlantic and the black earth. This place is great to watch the sunset.
Following the road to El Golfo, you can find Los Hervideros.
A spectacle of nature in a series of cliffs that were created when magma reached the sea and became solidified rock. These blowholes and caves dating of volcanic eruptions of 1730-1736 and have been sculpted by erosion. The force of the waves creates a burst of water rising to the surface through the holes and crevices in the rocks, as if boiling water and hence its name “Los Hervideros” or, translated literally “The Boilers”. Visitors can enjoy this natural wonder from the trails.
You can visit Los Hervideros for free. It has parking, so you don't have to worry about that.
After Los Hervideros, you can visit the Charco Verde or Clicos Lagoon.
Also known as “Charco de los Clicos”, this green pond (Charco verde), is inside the great crater open to the sea located in El Golfo. It is formed by marine flora in the water, which gives it its distinctive green color. This unusual coloration is specifically due to the accumulation of seaweed: marine ruppia. The lagoon connected to the ocean by underground cracks, is separated from the sea by a black sand beach, that’s a great attraction for visitors.
Just off the "Charco Verde", you will find the fishing village of El Golfo, where you can find incredible places to eat and enjoy the Lanzarote coast.
